Stuart was born in 1980 in the United Kingdom and immigrated to Australia in 1985 residing in Adelaide, South Australia with his parents and younger brother.  Graduated from Urrbrae Agricultural High School 1997 and is married to Sophie with 2 girls, aged 4 and 9.  Hobbies and interests include tennis, horse riding, water-skiing, jet-skiing, golf and taking his motor bike out for a ride.

Stuart’s first job after graduating from school was working for a company called Cutco selling knives to friends and family via referrals, this lasted 3 months.  He then started selling pots and pans for a company called Dine Rite for another couple of months, and points out that he didn’t make any money in either of these jobs as they were commission only and that this was where he learnt his initial sales training.

His next role was a Door-2-Door sales position, for Auscom Tele Services.  This was the first competitor to Telstra after the deregulation of the telecommunication sector.  He quickly rose to a management role and was sent to build new sales teams around Australia and spent three years building teams in Perth, Canberra, Brisbane and Gold Coast.

Stuart's business ventures include:

2002 – Current,  Bsmart Communications (his first venture)
In the year 2000 he took six months off to travel and returned to Gold Coast.   In 2002 he incorporated Bsmart Communications as an outsource provider of call centre marketing services to major telecommunications companies such as AAPT, Optus, Primus Telecom, Go Talk and Commander to name a few.   More recently Bsmart has operated as the sales and marketing arm for various other ventures that he has embarked on in the environmental and renewable energy space as per below.

The latest focus for BSmart Communications is a start-up called Freedom First. This is a property marketing and sales business which he intends to build out from Bsmart Communications.

2007 – 2009, Freshwater Tanks
Freshwater Tanks, a water tank manufacturing and installation business started off the Queensland Government initiatives for water tanks.  It ceased trading in 2009 due to government support being removed, this Stuart's first lesson in the unpredictability in government policy.

June 2009 – Current, Green Initiatives
Green Initiatives is a solar power supply and install business, servicing residential, commercial and large scale projects.  GI currently employs in excess of 100 staff and installs solar systems along the East Coast of Australia. The turnover for 2012 was in excess of $15mil.  This business is currently going through a lot of change due to the changing renewable energy policies.

2011 - Current, Green Funding
Green Funding is a Mortgage Broking Business built initially to provide Green Initiatives' clients a finance solution for purchasing solar with their home equity.  This business has grown via other referral sources and currently operates with 5 brokers in South East Queensland.

2002 – Current, Con-x-ion Airport transfers
Around this time Stuart’s parents bought a small tour bus company petty coach and tours with 4 buses which is today trading as Con-x-ion Airport Transfers.  The business was focused on the Asian market and was crippled in 2003 when Sars broke out and people stopped travelling.  At this stage Stuart became actively involved in the business and implemented a strategy to turn the business around.  This led to entering the Airport Transfer market and the subsequent acquisitions of Door-2-Door Airbus, Active Tours, Con-x-ion, Coachtrans and Holiday Tours over the last 10 years. Stuart has taken the company from 4 buses and $100,000 revenue to over 60 vehicles and in excess of $10mil revenue.  In the last 4 years he's built a franchise model and currently has 9 franchisee drivers with more to come on this year.  The forecast is the company will grow again substantially in the next 12 months due to another acquisition opportunity.
